The XLAM wood extension project for a school in the province of Verona has been completed. Four classrooms were built on 2 floors. The entire load-bearing structure of the extension is made of CLT (XLAM) cross-laminated timber panels. The load-bearing walls were designed with 3-layer panels 120mm thick, while the floor panels, spanning 8 meters, were constructed with 7-layer panels 248mm thick. The assignment included only the design of the timber structures and their connections.
