Work in progress: multi-story CLT timber building in Brianza

, ,

The installation of the structures for the multi-story CLT timber building began 3 weeks ago.

The installers of the CLT timber structures are about to complete the roof slab despite delays due to snowfall a few days ago.

Only the pitched slabs at one end of the building and the roof slabs of the stairwell towers remain to complete the structural portion of the building.

Fornale Engineering has handled the detailed structural design of the timber structures for this multi-story building constructed entirely in CLT timber.

The intermediate floor slabs are made of 186mm CLT timber with 5 layers, and steel beams have been designed where spans became significant.

Fornale Engineering has developed the CAD/CAM drawings necessary for panel production and prepared the assembly plan for the residential complex.

In numbers:

  • 300 m³ of CLT timber,
  • 106 quintals of steel for internal beams/bracing,
  • 16,542 Anker nails,
  • 780 QHT hold downs;
  • and more

After months of design work by the STUDIOFORNALE.it staff, this beautiful CLT timber residential complex is finally taking shape.
