The structural design assignment for the timber structures of a residential complex in the province of Trento has been completed. The project involved the construction of 5 roofs totaling approximately 1,800 m²; 3 roofs were built on new reinforced concrete structures and 2 on existing renovated buildings. In addition to the roofs, mezzanines were designed within the residential units.
The project was highly complex due to the roof geometries and the internal arrangement of load-bearing elements, which required the use of 13-meter-long steel trusses and other steel support systems. The trusses were custom-designed to ensure maximum usability of the spaces and to be as aesthetically unobtrusive as possible.
