Private Timber Frame House in Monza

BUILDING DESCRIPTION

Studifornale.it handled the detailed design and DfMA of this private timber frame house in the province of Monza Brianza.
The architectural project, striking and modern in impact, is characterized externally by the large cantilever of the façade extending toward the swimming pool.
Inside, on an area of approximately 150 sqm, the ground floor accommodates the living area, service rooms, and garage.
The first floor, approximately 110 sqm, houses the sleeping area.
A distinctive feature of the project is the large double-height volume in the living area with an open staircase from which, via a suspended steel walkway, access is provided to the spaces on the first level.

STRUCTURAL SCHEME

The building is founded on a reinforced concrete slab from which the timber frame walls rise.
The building is developed on two levels, the second of which is certainly more interesting from an engineering standpoint, both for the cantilever on one façade and for the internal walkway.
On the second floor, the rooms are connected by a walkway over the void, creating a full-height volume in the living area.
The floors are constructed with prefabricated frame-type cassettes manufactured in the workshop, facilitating on-site installation.
