Fornale Engineering was commissioned to design the glulam structures for the Buglioni Winery.
The building in question covers a floor area of 1,700 sqm and features a mono-pitch roof, except for the end section where a double-pitch roof covers the office area.
FIRE RESISTANCE REQUIREMENTS
The glulam structure was designed to achieve R90 fire resistance.
This specification required a very detailed study of the details and connections, which are the weak points of a structure during a fire.
Specific protective systems were designed for the main beam supports using resin-bonded rods and intumescent mats.
All framing was appropriately oversized and, to minimize the visual impact of such oversizing, GL32h glulam was used.

PROFESSIONAL ASSIGNMENT
Fornale Engineering was commissioned to:
- detailed engineering design of glulam structures;
- R90 fire protection design;
