PROJECT SUMMARY
The project involves the demolition and reconstruction of a property in the historic center of the municipality of Bussolengo, replaced by a new building made of CLT and glulam.
The building consists of 4 floors: the first is intended for commercial activities, while the remaining 3 house 7 apartments.

STRUCTURAL MODEL
The stability of the building is ensured by the central CLT stairwell and elevator shaft, supplemented by CLT wood walls arranged parallel to the existing buildings.
The CLT wood structure is seismically independent from the adjacent buildings.

The foundation structures consist of reinforced concrete inverted beams, to which the CLT walls are anchored.
MATERIALS USED
The reinforced concrete foundations serve as structural anchoring for the CLT wood walls above. The ground connection is achieved using a prefabricated aluminum curb.

The load-bearing walls are made of CLT wood of various thicknesses.
Glulam beams with exposed spruce boarding and an additional upper layer of OSB bracing define the intermediate floors.
Steel beams are provided to divide the floor span where it is too wide for the glulam beams.

The roof structure is a gabled type, constructed with glulam beams that create a primary and secondary framing system.

PROFESSIONAL ASSIGNMENT
For this project we were assigned the following tasks:
- executive structural design for CLT and glulam wood.
