Project description
The project involves the construction of a cross-laminated timber villa of approximately 220 sqm in plan. The upper level features a bedroom accessed via an open mezzanine overlooking the living room below.
The ground floor bedrooms and kitchen have a lowered ceiling at 2.9 m, in contrast to the full-height living room overlooked by the upper rooms and defined by the glued laminated timber roof structure.
There are two main volumes with gable roofs interrupted by a tower with a flat roof.
Materials used
100 mm 3-layer cross-laminated timber panels were used for the construction of the load-bearing timber structures in elevation.
The roof and intermediate floor structures were constructed in glued laminated timber with overlaid planking and OSB3 bracing panels.
