PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The project involves the construction of a CLT wood house in Verona.
The building spans two floors, in addition to a 150 sqm reinforced concrete basement on each level.
The first-floor slab features a “floor-to-ceiling” opening above the living room, overlooked by the study upstairs.
CLT WOOD VERTICAL STRUCTURES
We designed the vertical walls of the project using 120mm thick CLT structural panels with a variable number of layers.
For walls spanning a single floor, we used 5-layer CLT wood panels.
Walls spanning two floors were designed with 3-layer CLT wood panels to meet wind load requirements.

GLULAM WOOD FLOORS
The project included the construction of three glulam wood floors: intermediate, attic, and roof.
GL24h glulam beams with concealed fasteners were used for all floors.
Diaphragm stiffening was achieved using OSB3 panels appropriately screwed to the underlying glulam beams.

PROFESSIONAL ASSIGNMENT
Fornale Engineering was commissioned for the executive structural design of the CLT wood panels and glulam wood floors.
