The executive project for the new Racchetti – Da Vinci timber High School in Crema has finally been approved.
This is an ambitious and challenging project in which we have been involved in the final and executive structural design.
The new Institute has a total surface area of approximately 10,300 sqm divided into 4 blocks, one of which is partially used as a gymnasium.
The buildings will accommodate approximately 1,200 students and will be one of the largest school construction projects in Italy.
The project will be built exclusively using load-bearing timber structures.
The following material quantities are estimated:
- 700 cubic meters of glued laminated timber;
- 21,500 sqm of CLT timber panels for the construction of floors and walls.
For the foundation structures, the following will be used:
- 3,500 cubic meters of reinforced concrete;
- 195,000 kg of reinforcing steel.
The total cost of the project amounts to €31.5M.
Given the recent approval by Inail, the start of the construction phase is expected in the first half of 2027.
