Fornale Engineering has been commissioned for the final and executive structural design of 2 new gymnasiums to be built using glulam and CLT.
The vertical and roofing structures will be constructed using glulam elements and CLT wall and floor panels.
The first gymnasium covers a total area of approximately 2,175 sqm (including the changing rooms).
Its construction involves the use of 282 m³ of glulam and 428 m³ of CLT panels (4,030 sqm).
The second gymnasium covers a total area of approximately 1,310 sqm (including the changing rooms).
Its construction involves the use of 173 m³ of glulam and 313 m³ of CLT panels (2,700 sqm).
Both gymnasiums are located in seismic zone 2 and are designed to guarantee R60 fire resistance.
The project involves a total use of approximately 455 m³ of glulam and 741 m³ of CLT panels (a total of 6,730 sqm of various thicknesses).
