Construction of the new Innovation Hub – Faculty of Engineering in Padua is progressing rapidly.
We began our role as structural works supervisor at the start of February.
The first month was dedicated to the foundation works; an 80 cm thick slab covering approximately 2,000 m². The pouring operations were carried out in two phases, one of which involved 1,400 m³.
The installation of the timber structures began in March, following several days spent preparing the steel curbs required for positioning the walls above.
The installation of the walls was very rapid, as was the installation of the first-floor structures.
Four weeks have passed since the start of the timber structure installation; one team is already beginning to install the second-floor beams while another team completes the first floor.
To give an idea of the system’s installation speed and the building’s dimensions:
1 month = 900 m³ of timber structures installed!
