This concerns the intervention on wooden floors carried out as part of the seismic upgrade project for a building damaged by the Emilia Romagna earthquake in 2012.
In collaboration with Eng. Valeria Rizzotti, we handled the structural design of the seismic upgrade with particular attention to the reinforcement of the existing wooden floors, which had both limited load-bearing capacity and high in-plane deformability.
The intervention aimed to upgrade the floor’s load-bearing capacity to meet required loads, increase its in-plane stiffness, and ensure proper connection/anchorage to the masonry walls.
