Glulam Timber Roof for Winery

,

Fornale Engineering designed the glulam timber roof for the grape drying winery in the province of Verona.
The winery covers a floor area of 1,700 m² and features a mono-pitch roof, except for the end section which has a dual-pitch roof covering the office area.
The glulam timber structure was designed to achieve R90 fire resistance; a particularly demanding requirement, especially for the timber connections.
Specific protective systems were developed for the main beam supports using resin-bonded bars and intumescent mats.
All framing members were appropriately oversized and, to minimize the visual impact of such oversizing, GL32h glulam timber was employed.
