The three-story CLT apartment building constructed in Brianza is now ready for occupancy.
Fornale Engineering handled the detailed engineering and production release of the project, including the creation of CAD/CAM files, cutting lists, and the necessary hardware specifications.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
The project involves the construction of a CLT apartment building spanning three staggered levels with a footprint of approximately 450 sqm.
The CLT wood walls rest on a perimeter concrete upstand to ensure the durability of the structure.
The floor slabs are made of 200 mm thick CLT panels, with intermediate steel beams incorporated where necessary.
The CLT building houses eight apartments, some with significant floor areas, spanning multiple floors with internal staircases.
There are two stair/elevator shafts constructed using full-height CLT panels.
The roof structures vary by apartment; some sections feature flat CLT slabs on glulam beams, while others have traditional gabled roofs made of glulam.
During project development, we addressed the challenge of three different foundation levels, combined with the fact that many apartments spanned multiple floors, often straddling the points where the base levels changed.
This required particular attention during the creation of the 3D model and the shop drawings.
